(The Revelation of Liberal Democracy): 天賦人權 (unalienable rights) 和 主權在民 (popular sovereignty)

Google Likely Saying Goodbye To China
POSTED BY: Robert Charette // Wed, January 13, 2010
In mid-December, Google said in a blog posting yesterday, the company discovered "a highly sophisticated and targeted attack on our corporate infrastructure originating from China that resulted in the theft of intellectual property from Google. However, it soon became clear that what at first appeared to be solely a security incident--albeit significant one--was something quite different."
First, Google said, it found out that the attack on it apparently was part of a coordinated attack against at least 20 other large companies, many of which seem to be US-based. According to the Washington Post, it was more like 34 companies.

CES: Cisco Press Conference
CES: Cisco Press Conference
By Alexander Eule
The Cisco Systems (CSCO) event is more intimate than most today — the company required a pre-registration and seemed to be turning people away.
Even in the small room, Cisco has an impressive setup with half of the stage setup to resemble a home den, complete with entertainment center. Chambers is working the room unlike the other presenters I’ve seen today.
Chairman and CEO John Chambers led off his speech by asking “A decade ago who would have thought that Cisco, video and the consumer would be coming together at CES.”

Cisco Rides the Cycle
Wedbush Securities sees positives for the networking giant.
Cisco Systems (CSCO: Nasdaq) By Wedbush Securities ($24.61, Jan. 5, 2009)
WE REGARD OUR DECEMBER information-technology (IT) survey to be especially positive for Cisco Systems (ticker: CSCO) due to strong-cyclical implications and increasing priority of collaboration, cloud computing and virtualization.
These factors imply the efforts by Cisco to expand into new product categories, including server computers, and channels (Acadia with EMC (EMC)) that target virtualization and cloud computing increasingly appear to anticipate the market in both direction and timing.

The VMware approach to cloud computing
Many have said that 2010 will be the year of cloud computing. What this really means is unclear, just like the definition cloud computing.
Problem is that cloud computing means too many things already and the market doesn’t even exist.
The industry somewhat agreed to recognize as cloud computing just three major architectures (with examples):
- Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
SalesForce CRM
Google Apps - Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
Google App Engine
Microsoft Azure - Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS)
